| I'll try but I'm not sure if my laptop can handle it ( I'm on the laptop as the desktop is at home ) any suggestions as to what app I can use to record ? the game has a built in recorder but I think the format is for the game only, I have not asked around the official forums about formatting it for divX or similar playback. I reduced the number of static camera's to 2, and I added the Golden Dragon as a solo fighter ( Chiyoshi Saito's personal plane is a black A6M2 zero with a golden dragon emblem on the sides, he's a japanese born of chinese ancestry with 64+ kills flew in the last defense of Iwo Jima ) all they have ( sadly ) is a generic battleship for the IJN since this is a Flight sim, but in the map it represents the powerful Nagato,The Mutsu, & The Haruna, the CV is the Chiyoda, & a total of 3 desroyers, an older Akitsuki south of Iwo Jima Attempting to land supplies, and the sisters ( Kagero class ) Amatsukaze & Tanekaze escorting the taskforce southwards, the Japanese surface fleet is situated between the two combined taskforces of the RN & USN andtheir respective efforts to land men and supplies on the south eastern beach near mount suribachi from the northern part of the map. a flight of "replacement" G4M betty bombers coming from a light delivery carrier from the north is making a torpedo run 10 mins into your flight ( presumably just as you scout out the western fleet with your A6M2-N1 float fighter ) a floatplane tender is represented by a cargo ship near Iwo Jima's north west shore where your floatplane base is located.
yeh lots goin on ( including a full 4 flights of F6Fs returning from a south east combat air patrol and vectoring through Iwo Jima then back to their respective carriers ) & a full beach invasion landing with LCVPs and a transport ship unloading them.
I hope other computers can run it ( the amount of shells and flak flying around is just wicked to the point where I actually survived 60 % of the time when I'm playing my own mad creation ) ________________________ Trust Me With Your Life, Not Your Money Or Your Wife ! |

could try FRAPS, and also xfire has a video recorder but only 10min worth of recording time per vid max. Plus it lags a bit so i dont recommend it always.

Well, here's a few pics from my new skin pack particularly the USMC Variants ( A-20G Pacific Skin Pack, I have Day & Night for both USMC & USN-Land Based Attacker Groups With separate GoD noseart ) USMC A-20G Night Fighter/Attacker USMC A-20G Daylight Raider Now that's a bomber I can appreciate, all those nose mounted guns, nice handling for a medium bomber & great low level performance ( not to mention it's a narrow bodied single pilot SOB that likes to prey on ships ) ________________________ Trust Me With Your Life, Not Your Money Or Your Wife !

Well, before I high tail it outta this TOC, i'd like to put out a mission I made ( It's currently only playable under MULTIPLAYER-COOP but it works fine with just 1 person in there as I considered AI taking over empty flights ) Instructions : Copy the folder named NET & overwrite the one in the missions folder , OR copy the mission files inside the Net/Coop/Pacific Fighters folder and give it a try ZIP FILE DLBattle of Eastern Solomons (August 23-25, 1942) - I shortened the flight time significantly ( 45 minutes to 35 minutes depending on selected aircraft & flight ) this battle is the first major carrier battle in the Solomon island chains & it is when the Enterprise recieved it's first major damage but escaped south & the Ryujo was sank ( fought over 200 miles, I shortened it to just beyond visual range, face it nobody wants to actually fly a mission for 8 godam hours lol ) anyway : American Forces Consist of SBDs & F4Fs launching a Strike at the pursuit force ( western force ) the IJN consists of 2 scout planes from the Cruiser Takao ( generic IJN cruiser model in this map ) a flight of 2 G4M Torpedo bomber off the stand in for the Ryujo ( yes I know it looks like the Kaga but it's the only generic IJN CV available ) or a Flight of D3A1 Dive Bombers, but only a few fighters ( tasked mainly with scouting the east ) There are also flyable Zeros ( A6M2s 1941 model ) From The Zuikaku & Shokaku,The scenario is balanced as the U.S. CVs are heading away from the IJN CVs at flank speed & superior AA cover from their destroyers ( by contrast the IJN had less DDs out that where not heading for Guadalcanal & not ladden with Troops & Supplies ) Anyway, whoever tries this, please let me know if you find anything wierd ( asided from the simulated catapult launch of he 2 scout planes from the Heavy Cruiser Takao ) & i'll try to fix it, also any suggestions would be great, i'm sure some of you will DL the game or something and play it. - see yah in the tall grass ! ________________________ Trust Me With Your Life, Not Your Money Or Your Wife !

hmm crackpots ! I sent in the wrong version, I need to repack it ASAP, oh and on this version you get the outbound flights ( non player ) of B29s from Guadalcanal attempting a ditching at sea in the middle of a naval battle .... & added more playable U.S. Planes ( ever tried landing an A-20 on a heaving, moving deck of a firing/maneuvering carrier ? or tried taking off in a Mitsubishi G4M bomber on short notice before your carrier get's attacked ? ) wohoo coming soon ...... & the 2nd part is coming soon ( thanks to a friend who is working the templates / positioning the ships & units & assigning the Squadrons historically ) ________________________ Trust Me With Your Life, Not Your Money Or Your Wife !

Dam ! I almot got suckered in by this game back into modding, thanks in part to it's easy skin interface, & even the map editor is so easy ..... whew ! I ended up making some skins that I published off a flight sim sight, I also ended up recreating the 3rd largest Carrier battle in history despite the map size limitations ( more like who wants to fly an actual 68 minutes in game with no autopilot ? so it was shrank to a more manageable 10 minute flight to target ) after 3 days of slaving away ( I still have not tested it as my laptop won't run the actual game, but it can run the map editor ) every unit has been adjusted by eye and by a lil help with some real navy navigators ( lol im sure they had fun debating the various asymuths etc. that would have put my poor brain in a choke hold ) here is a screen of the battle of the eastern solomons ( finished edition ) Blue Nav Plot Lines Are IJN & Red is USN, and I also gave it a bit of randomness by not assigning targets to bombers, but just having them under "general ground attack" aka targets of opportunity when they get to their generally assigned attack run area, it makes it interesting that anything could happen and things go wrong sometimes ( a landing gear failure in the middle of take off, engine losing revs, wind not blowing the right way, fuel consumption ) I'm stopping myself from full blown modding as I don't have time right now, too bad ! it's grown on me and IF I was gonna mod, it's gonna be an Aero-Naval centered piece, I already had the template for most of the Mitsubishi Planes ready to go .... and I was dying to put in IJN battleships not just the generic battlecruiser in the game. There's also something I regert having done ..... I photoshoped a dead man's face into the pilot mugshot model ( choosable faces from hundreds but I felt compeled at the time to be as "realistic" as possible ) so I did what I should NOT have done, I photoshoped Japanese Float Plane Ace, Kiyomi Katsuki's face into a pilot profile ... dam ! it turned out kinda creepy ( & hauntingly lifelike when it's moving around the pilot seat looking around for a kill ) FOOK ! ________________________ Trust Me With Your Life, Not Your Money Or Your Wife !

Well I was on my way out the door ( for work ) when an email popped up, apparently I am accepted to the 78th Sentai virtual flying squadron ( under the callsign "Kzu" ) should be fun as we wage war against the rivals ( MCVG - Marine Corps Virtual air Group - 2 "The Duece" ) -operations commence on Tarawa, I'll be flying the D3A1 left wing sometime next week. 78th Sentai________________________ Trust Me With Your Life, Not Your Money Or Your Wife !

Well, Here's the battle of midway ( flow as 78th Sentai, 5th Fighter for the 1st round & 78th Chutai, 1st Dive Bomber Bomber for the 2nd round ) Simultaneous Take-off 2 flights of DBs ( I'm lead DB ) & 2 Flights of A6M5B Fighters ( I left the canopy open incase something goes wrong during take-off ) Well here's My A6M5C Zero ( Hiei ) In It's 78th Sentai paint scheme ( Orange Sentai Color On Bottom, Drab Green Up Top & Orang Tail Striping ) thank gawd this one's got self sealing fuel tanks and extra armor the godam A6M-21 from 1941 had no self sealing fuel tanks ! The SBD-3's absorb bullets like a godam shamwow ( and keeps flying ! ) but now I know why VALs are under "Attack Planes Squadron" instead of "Bomber Squadron" they sure pack maneuverabillity as a DB, after you drop em bombs you can go shoot down planes too ( the telescopic bomb/gun sight helps a lot to engage from afar ) The F4F-3 is a formidable opponent, it chews up bombers like crazy, but a bit underpowered at the climb, well armored but lacks a cannon ( only shitloads of machineguns ) "Bonus Round" Kiosk Flies The F-2 ( Brewster Buffalo ) as a stand in for the missing A5Mtype9 trainer/interceptor in a death match above Tarawa Island ( Kiosk's personal "ace" paint scheme ) - Killed 2 F2s and a TBF before having to pancake into the shallows, lost some revs after taking a hit from a rear gunner into the engine, lost supercharger stage 1-2 & oil pressure 2 mins just as I was climbing for another run. ________________________ Trust Me With Your Life, Not Your Money Or Your Wife !

I have play these series IL2 game for about 8 years . I'am really enjoy its realistic dynamics. Even the big game Flight simulator ,its dynamic also weak then IL2 games .That is my feeling! I have play it in UBI Soft lobby online many years ago. But only seldom players are online. Its really fun and you will feel you are really play like in movie"Pearl Harbour". This year ,i played the IL2 sturmovik birds of prey . Its really a excellent experience as its texture, drawing, dynamic seems is the top of any other flight simulator games(Except this time it didn't focus on the flying details like reading oil pressure, bullet limit etc.). If you like flying, this game i really recommand it to you! I come from HongKong where it is in chain.Sorry for my poor english ^o^ I'm really enjoy this game! Thanks for sharing!

Just tell me if you need the "hoot's jap killer" rising sun kill tags on your bird here's the preliminary skin ( Work In Progress ) just working on the nose & cockpit detail, haven't sprayed on the VF-15 wartime tail splash yet, busy times for kiosk's tactical aircraft maintenance dept. ! Hooter's Hellcat/Wildcat Scheme 1944 : I can't fly with you on this lappy but I take stab at hashing out new skins just to keep my wits sharp ( I was doing a fair amount of historically accurate tail flash for the actual VF-15 but I taught a bit of GoD flavor suits it nicely ) I'm working on late war series ( weather beaten, and slightly rusty versions ) as well as Atlantic skin pack just to amuse me. ( I'm also working on a "great battle" coop mission with the carrier groups somewhat within 5-7 minutes flight time. with attackers, bombers, & fighters for both sides ) tryin to figure out a moderate amount of planes that everyone's computers can run smoothyl, so far my rig at home can run about 90 AI planes no hangups - oorah, Kilo ________________________ Trust Me With Your Life, Not Your Money Or Your Wife !

It's probably not gonna take a lot of time to do so, also I've taken a liking to the "island naval airbase look" for the A6M type C ( no arresting hook version of the imperial japanese navy air force fighter ) a "we are not getting enough supplies to repaint it" look is what I'm going for ________________________ Trust Me With Your Life, Not Your Money Or Your Wife !
